What: “Foto of the Fortnight” Contest
How: Email a photo from an Emerge show to us and you could win a pair of tickets to an upcoming Emerge show of your choice (restrictions may apply to some shows).
Where & what: Send a jpg (smaller than 250kb) along with:
– Show info (where did you take it or whom and when).
– Your name & link to your blog, Facebook, Friendster or what have you.
– Your contact info so we can work out the tickets.

This is for everyone that purchased a ticket to Razorlight at the Mod Club Theatre, March 1st. Our sincerest apologies for the late cancellation of the show. As of right now we are offering full refunds at your point of purchase. Best efforts were made to reschedule the show, but we were unable to confirm a date as of yet and definitely don’t want to make everyone wait. They will be back!

As a gesture to fans who came to the Razorlight show at the Mod Club in Toronto on March 1st and found that it had been cancelled at the last minute, the band have decided they want to offer fans the chance to see Razorlight play in London. After arriving in Toronto in a blizzard and having to pull the show when Johnny Borrell and Bjorn Agren came down with flu, they wanted to find a way to make up for the loss of the show.  Ticketholders can enter the contest simply by sending an e-mail to feedback (at) emerge (dot) ca and sighting the barcode number on their ticket (12 digit number, right side of the ticket) along with full contact information. On Friday March 23rd the submitted e-mails will be pooled, and two barcode numbers will be chosen at random. The winners will be informed that afternoon.  So, what exactly will you win? Flights, and accommodations for 2 nights in London for two people, along with two tickets to see Razorlight play at Earls Court on April 8th. Its sold out with 17,000 people so it will be an amazing night. You’ll need passports and to be able to travel to London leaving April 7 for a couple of days. Razorlight are also going to try to reschedule the Toronto show as soon as possible.
Johnny Borrell says: “We were really looking forward to the show in Toronto and I was gutted that we had to cancel at the last moment. I know how frustrating it is for the fans to have show pulled at the last moment. I saw the Raveonettes do this once, when we supporting them in Bristol a few years ago, and I know how frustrating it is for the band and the fans. It’s the first show that we’ve pulled due to illness for over 2 years, and we just wanted to do something to try and make up for it particularly to the fans who undertook the journey through the blizzard and snow that night. Hopefully, we’ll be back in may sometime and we will see you there.â€

What a start to the new year. I’m so jazzed about the Earl Greyhound and Satin Peaches shows the first 5 people to email feedback (at) emerge (dot) ca will get a pair of ticket to BOTH shows. These two bands and the two shows are going to be bananas. Dan Burke called Earl Greyhound “Jimi Hendrix in reverse” – isn’t that way better than the two film dudes four thumbs up?
Mute Math is coming to Toronto on March 8th at The Opera House. Limited CMW passes will be accepted. These guys killed it at Bonnaroo last year and a bunch of other festivals. Their show at the Elmo had a line-up around the block.
Did you go to V? Did you see Wolfmother? Did you go to their Drake show? All their shows have been bananas. They’re going to put on a show that you won’t forget any time soon and they keep the hits coming. “Joker and the thief” and “Woman” are only two of the gems. March 6th at the Kool Haus.
Finally, I guess the press release is out about the Bloc Party tour at Pitchfork – expect news from us about both Toronto and Montreal dates in the next week or so with regards to on-sale and ticket price. Sign up for the mailing list and don’t miss out.

For fans of The Starting Line and Motion City Soundtrack you have the opportunity to buy presale tickets via their respective fanclubs and websites for some upcoming shows in Toronto.
The Starting Line tickets are available today (Dec 9th) and Motion City Soundtrack will be available tomorrow (Dec 10th).
Full shows details will be announced on our website next week but for now you can check the bands’ own sites for pretty much all the info. Both shows have killer support acts on board and are sure to be great shows.
